Situation

La Gravette is the ideal spot from which to explore the pretty riverside villages such as Beynac and La Roque Gageac, seemingly impossibly built into the side of a cliff. The medieval Sarlat, the bastides of Domme and Limeuil, where the Dordogne River and Vezere river met, Les Eyzies and the Vezere valley, are all within 20 miles from the house.

Reviews

We had a fantastic 2 week family holiday here. I won't write the house is lovely with stunning views, perfect location for canoeing and we will definitely return. The house is exactly like the photographs. Clean, well organised and modern. I'll try and include the extra things we discovered. We were greeted with wine, drink and water in the fridge. Parking was on the road straight outside the house and never a problem. The kitchen was a dream to cook in. We enjoyed the bar-b-q as well. The temperature was very hot and the house with its thick walls did keep help, but it was hot! We loved using the pool to keep cool and there were about 4 fans in the house to try and help also. The town was a 2 minute walk down the slope where we went for coffees, bars, meals, markets and food. Wifi was excellent in the house. The wooden stairs going up and down to the roof space with the mezzanine twin bed were quite steep. Very quiet at night with millions of stars
This is a fabulous property with an excellent pool, Sabine was very helpful and friendly during our visit. Very peaceful and private, can walk to a choice of 3 boulangeries and a delicatessen in the village and a small well equipped supermarket with a bigger supermarket only 5 minutes drive away. Walk into the town to a few lovely outside bars (far end of village) and the choice of 3 lovely restaurants and some beautiful little shops. The Sunday market is a must and provides a fabulous morning out with fantastic local goods and produce. We absolutely loved our stay, very safe area excellent to get to local Dordogne areas only 30mins from Sarlet, Domme, Montpazier all recommended for a visit. Choice of a few canoe trips too where we had a beautiful day on the river. Recommend a local restaurant Brasseurs Du Pont in Siorac we went twice beautiful view over river and food. Definitely somewhere we will come again and highly recommend.
This lovely property was just as described in the listing. We enjoyed a wonderful week and the many activities - caves, castles, canoe trips, foie gras, wine - to be found in the Dordogne. The weather cooperated so that we could enjoy the pool. (A pool with a view!) The rental group was very responsive to any of our concerns. They even were so kind as to store some luggage for us for a week. Thank you for your attention to make this a memorable trip for our family!

We had a wonderful time at the house. The boys loved the pool and we all enjoyed the outdoor dining table, a perfect place to end the day.
