Situation

Beynac-et-Cazenac has been selected as one of the ‘Plus Beaux Villages de France’ (‘the most beautiful villages of France’). The stunningly romantic village, which rises dramatically from the valley floor and was once the home of Richard the Lionheart, will enchant and captivate you at every turn, from its narrow medieval streets lined with soft honey-coloured stone houses to its shops, art galleries and restaurants, not to mention its magnificent Château, perched high atop the cliff, majestically watching over the Dordogne valley since 1150 AD.

Everything you need is right on your doorstep. Gourmet restaurants. Riverside cafés & bars. A boulangerie. A grocery store. A farmer’s market...

The ‘must see’ medieval town of Sarlat. The prehistoric cave paintings at Lascaux. The Michelin-starred restaurants of Trémolat. There's the walled medieval village (also known as a ‘bastide’) village of Domme. The legendary vineyards of Bergerac, Bordeaux and St Emilion. All this and more are within easy driving distance!

Reviews

This is a beautiful house in a lovely village. The living room view of the river and hot air ballons floating past the two castles will stay with me forever. The kitchen is well appointed with quantity appliances and a fridge with cold water and ice cube functions. We visited during a heat wave but found closing the shutters in the morning kept the house cool except for the top bedroom which does get very warm. The surrounding areas and villages are just stunning. We loved our stay.
A beautiful house in a beautiful spot with beautiful views. It is in an elevated position with quite a walk from the public car park but the beauty of the house and it’s location outweighed any negatives. Didn’t want to leave and will look forward to returning someday.
Fantastic place. Amazing river views.
The views and location were fantastic. We enjoyed our stay immensely
Très belle maison en pleine ville. Vraiment idéal pour se connecter avec l’histoire et la beauté de la région
Nice and comfortable house in a beautiful middle age town (Beynac), overlooking the river. It’s very comfortable, complete as described and with a very well equipped kitchen. Beynac is a great place from where you can explore this amazing region, with its castles, caves, beautiful towns, and amazing food…
Sabine's home is absolutely perfect for a stay in Beynac. The most important things I look for in an AirBnb is comfort, cleanliness and safety. This home and area met all our needs. The view out the windows of the hot air balloons rising in the evening or the kayakers heading down the river kept us easily entertained. The castle in Beynac is a must. There is so much to do within a short ride from the village. And although Beynac is a sleepy little town in the fall, we enjoyed coming home to that quietness and simplicity after a day of touring. There is an up and downhill climb to the car or the restaurants, so make sure you have your walking shoes with you. We enjoyed the walk as the weather was nice, crisp and clear most days. I especially enjoyed using the outside terrace to work at the end of the day. Again, there is a lot of stairs throughout the house, which was good for us after all the food and drink. The home is well supplied with everything we needed and we managed to cook a few meals at home, which we also enjoy. The little gourmet shop just outside of the village is a must visit for food and wine. Their strawberry parfait was amazing. We kept going back for more!
We had a lovely stay in this wonderful house. Vey clean, very spacious, lovely views over the Dordogne and extremely well equipped. An old house beautifully restored, very tastefully decorated with all modern conveniences. Right in the heart of Beynac at the foot of the Castle and close to restaurants, boulangerie etc. While there is no parking on site this is more than compensated for by the lovely old street it is located on. Communication with Sabine and the detailed instructions and information in the booklet were very good. Highly recommended.
What a wonderful place. The location was fantastic. We had a magnificent stay and thoroughly recommend it.

We had such a wonderful few days staying in your beautiful house. We had plenty of room and the space and views were enchanting. We went to the market Sunday and rented canoes Tuesday. It really is a beautiful place
This house and it’s location are nothing short of enchanting. We had a wonderful stay
We loved our stay in Beynac et Cazenac! The house is charming, with everything you might need, it has a wonderful view and perfect location just under the castle. It is also close to a lot of must visit paces in the Dordogne area. We felt very welcomed... I feel very grateful for a wonderful stay in the Dordogne area and I recommend this house.
