Fantastic Flambée!
we stayed 2 weeks in this wonderful cottage in the picturesque town of Domme in the south of France. What a great place and a real find for anyone wishing to experience the beauty and culture of the wine and food (and duck!!!) region. The house slept 6 people but as a group of 4 we had more than enough room. The bathrooms were adequate, kitchen spacious with all amenities available, the owners leave the place well stocked. The cottage is well positioned with magnificent views over the valley. There are plenty of great restaurants that vary in price from real value for money to up market. We never went hungry!! The shops are quaint offering delicacies of regional food and wine, local art and craft, so much to spend your money on, and just a short drive to many other wonderful towns like Sarlat where the market has to be seen to be believed. Flambee in Domme was more than we wished for and if good fortune comes our way again we will be back!!!
It didn't disappoint.....................
The property is situated next to Porte Delbos, one of the main entry points to Domme. We liked the space it offered (there were 4 of us - 2 couples - but it could comfortably take more); the general layout; and the quirkiness (it was in recent times a small restaurant). It was quiet (although I would imagine that could be different in peak months) and Domme provides easy access to the larger town of Sarlat and other places of interest within 10 miles. As it was low season the Dordoyne was generally quiet and Domme more so, on an evening rather than during the day when there were visitors. All in all we'd recommend this place - we tended to be out all day and return early / mid evening - and on that basis it was perfect.
