Les propriétaires (qui ont également un petit chien) étaient présents dans leur maison à proximité, mais très discrets et absolument charmants. Cette maison est très bien située, à 20 min de multiples lieux historiques et dans la bastide de Domme.

The ancient secluded farmhouse with spectacular views across forests and valleys is a picture postcard. The stone structure has been most tastefully renovated and the house is fully furnished. The exhaustively equipped modern kitchen and en suite bathrooms leave nothing to be desired. Special mention goes to the several stone terraces around the property, which encourage one to be outside whether for dining, reading or simply having a drink; and of course the mature garden which enhances the sensation of peacefulness. Highly recommend it!

Tenemos 3 niños y hemos pasado unos días geniales en Sarlat. La casa no puede estar mejor ubicada, está a 1 minuto de la plaza de la libertad en pleno casco antiguo de Sarlat. Hemos estado como en nuestra casa. Sabine es una súper anfitriona. Ha estado pendiente de todo e incluso nos dejó una botella de vino en la casa. Sin duda ha sido un gran viaje, Sarlat es precioso y los alrededores increíbles.

The Chateau Malartrie is rustic, charming, well appointed, and comfortable. The location is stunning overlooking the Dordogne River and Valley. It is close to historic villages, cave art, cave dwellings, and many activities to keep my guests involved and entertained. We especially loved soaking up the sunshine by the Chateau pool, canoeing on the Dordogne River, taking hot air balloon rides, exploring the market days at Sarlat, and shopping and eating at local La Roque Gageac restaurants. Being from the United States, the booking and confirmation were easy and En Toutes Saisons staff were friendly, always available, and promptly answered questions. Also, we can’t complement the owners, Alix & Pierre-Augustin too much. They were so gracious, hospitable, accommodating, and helpful. It was because of them that made the overall vacation and my birthday a once-in-a-lifetime, magical experience. A dream comes true.

Proche du centre de Sarlat en voiture mais plus difficilement accessible à pied (pas de trottoir et une pente très très raide au retour). Ses cinq chambres sont toutes équipées de placards, chacune ayant sa salle de bain et ses WC. Vaste jardin (avec piscine même si nous avons pas profité à cette saison) et possibilité de stationner des voitures. Correspond parfaitement aux photos. Vaste séjour avec une belle cuisine (plus une arrière cuisine). Et un beau baby-foot, une table de ping-pong à disposition. Parfaite pour une famille nombreuse... Un guide d'utilisation clair et bien conçu. Je recommande sans hésitation, tous les membres de notre famille ont été satisfaits, des grands aux petits...

Mais suffisamment grand et confortable pour 5 ou 6 personnes, excellentes literies et linge irréprochable !

It's a tradtional building but completely modern and newly done on the inside with fully equipeed litchen and two good showerrooms. We had hot weather so the pool was used every day. The location is ideal for Bynac, its vey quiet but then an easy 10 minute walk into the town which has some nice shops and resturants - can recommend La Petite Tonnelle. Would definitely return here.

We were met by Josiane and Daniel who were very friendly and gave us a tour of the cottages and grounds. it was immediately clear we had made the right choice as the property far exceeded our expectations. It is a breathtakingly beautiful setting with the cottages finished to an exceptional standard. We could not have wished for better. The two cottage set up worked perfectly for our family, allowing our daughter and her family with two young boys to have the smaller cottage, whilst we and our other children occupied the main house. The décor, furnishings and ambience is wonderful. The owners have thought of everything. The kitchen is so well equipped and stocked. The dining area was large enough for all 11 of us. The bedrooms were beautifully presented and the lounge stunning with its beautifully restored and exposed stonework. It made a great base from which to explore the surrounding area. As well as having quiet days at the cottages, we also did canoeing on the Dordogne and a day’s cycling near to Sarlat-la-Canéda as well as visiting other nearby sites of interest. Domme was a particular favourite. We would have no hesitation in staying here again, and heartily recommend it to others. It’s peaceful setting would suit those looking for a quiet location to relax, read or write a book. Similarly, it makes the perfect base for those looking to explore the local area. On most mornngs and at sunset, we watched the hot air balloons flying over the valley. The home is well equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay, including a terrace and outdoor grill for dining al fresco and a small pool for cooling off at the end of a hot summer day. Although there is no air conditioning, the house was cool at night with the windows open. As noted in the listing, the house is located in a medieval village and you need to be prepared to walk up a steep incline to get there. Although parking is available near the house, it is challenging because of the very narrow roadway. Like many other reviewers, I would recommend parking below in the village car parks. My family thoroughly enjoyed this very special place and highly recommend it!

Each of us had our own room. The decor is a combination of traditional french country side with updated kitchens and baths. Both of the houses were spacious, airy and comfortable. The perfectly heated pool between the homes was a welcome relief at the end of the day. There were so many places to sit, dine, read and relax that is was hard to choose! We tried everything and only wished we had more time to take advantage of staying at this beautiful property. Sabine and Melanie provided great communication before the trip. Offered pre-trip shopping service so that we had supplies on arrival and made a good hand-out for finding the maison and getting into the house. The maison is walking distance 15-20 min to Sarlat center, but is all uphill on the way home so may be difficult for some and a workout with a lot of groceries. However, there is a carpark at the base of the hill to make it easier.

This is a 15th century house, true to the region in its feel and decor. If you enjoy staying in a place rooted in another era, but with modern bathrooms, this is the property to consider. Sabine managed the stay and couldn't have been more helpful. I stayed for a month and welcomed new friends and family every week. Sabine and her team kept us stocked with fresh linen. She also provided extras as needed, such as contact information for a private chef. The location may be the best in Sarlat. It's around the corner from the covered market, making it easy to slip out in the morning for fresh croissants, yogurt and more for the house. There's a pod coffee machine and also a French press (and a fresh coffee bean store nearby). These are the type of thoughtful extras that help make a good holiday. Thank you for a memorable time in one of the most beautiful parts of France.

It’s excellent for children with toys to play with inside and out. Our dog was welcomed too. The pool was great as it was safe for children with a secure gate. Lovely garden to run around in (fully fenced so great for the dog). The barn was well located for visiting places in the Dordogne. Most things were within 30/35 mins.
